The Perfect Foreknowledge of God
“For there is not a word in my tongue, but, lo, O Lord, you know it altogether (Psalms 139:4).”
Some say, “I cannot do all you ask Lord; my faith is not great enough.”
Talk about the straw that broke the camel’s back; it would seem those same people have a veritable “Mount Everest” of weight requiring tremendous faith that they want to roll upon God. When calling to mind one’s own thoughts and what many of them truly represent in the eyes of God; their faith must represent ability to lift an almost incalculable weight.
There is that property of God whereby He knows all things. There is not one single thing He does not know. His knowledge is such that he saw all things before they came to exist and sees the end of a thing before its beginning and all possible contingencies for each person, place and thing. Knowing this should make men and women tremble and shake with fright; “the devils believe and tremble.”*
It seems a shame that those who lay claim to belief in God should be less fearful of censure and at the same time less knowledgeable than demons when He has done all the heavy lifting Himself.
“And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If you have faith as a grain of mustard seed, you shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you (Matthew 17:20).”
*You believe that there is one God; you do well: the devils also believe, and tremble (James 2:19).
