The Living Water
The act of rebirth is God through Jesus Christ placing a free flowing well, or spring, of living water deep in us that is intended to flow forth constantly, instantly and freely. Freely we receive from this source of life and freely we are to let if flow forth from us without hindrance. The Christian is not to form expectation of the results He has the promise of God that it will produce what He purposes in those that are in the path of the flow.
The spiritual water flows forth and accomplishes the purpose God intended it and it should flow back to Him as intercession, praise and thanksgiving. The Christian is a two-way conduit for the water (Holy Spirit) to flow out abundantly and freely and the worship (praise, thanksgiving and glory) should flow back through the Christian to its source (God) unhindered as well. God, (Father, Son and Holy Spirit) alone is worthy of worship. Worship offered to any thing on the earth (animals, mankind, statues of stone, wood and etc.), beneath the waters (sea creatures), or in the heavens (birds, sun, moon or stars) is anathema (cursed thing) to the Living God.
The rain falls to the ground ground and runs down hill. It collects in brooks, creeks, lakes and rivers and flows back to its source, the ocean-sea. From there it is drawn up by the power of God through our sun and winds carry it back to fall as rain again and complete the process. Even the rain that falls on arid ground is evaporated by the sun and rises up into the skies and moves across the earth carried by the winds. Technically speaking all the water that was here at creation is still in the earth’s atmosphere. So much for global warming and climate change that are being touted to frighten little children in school!
The rivers that flow to the sea reshape and refresh the land as they travels unceasingly by the law of gravity, without stopping back to its source.
Christians were created and are designed to serve the same purpose with the living water that Jesus places in us, The Spirit of God, as he explained to the woman at the well.
She was concerned with personal and physical things He was revealing to her supernatural Spiritual things of God. When she began to understand she was excited and exhilarated. She had found the Spiritual source that never is exhausted and never fails.
It may be staunched by unwilling, defeated or non cooperative Christians; but, That source, hence the resulting flow, can never be exhausted. The spirit flows out and worship flows back to it source, the living God. Every bit of the Holy Spirit that has gone out from God is still here on the earth. Few people believe it or use it but it still works when someone passes it on. It has not lost its effect and is from an inexhaustible source.
Until the Christian understands this he will become depressed, exhausted, defeated and therefore unproductive. It is God that designed and operates the process He cannot fail because He will not. The victory was never in doubt. God decreed it, created it and is the omnipotent force behind it in truth and righteousness which flows forth from Him (He is love) as free grace. Grace is a free gift from God. It is ours for the asking.
