The only way to express true love and devotion to the Creator God is to be – in so far as is humanly possible – that which God created; the express image and likeness of the Creator1. Invite the Son of God to reign over your whole existence and the Holy Spirit will transform you and conform you to the image of God’s Son.

Because of selfishness inherent in human nature, humankind can not do this alone. How is this possible and how does this happen? It is the will of God for one to be transformed by the renewing of the mind. The Christian must become the “will of God.” For this reason the Apostle Paul admonished his spiritual son Timothy; “Study to show yourself approved unto God, a workman that need not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” – II Timothy 2:152

Surrender of the human will and subjection of the human spirit to the heir to the eternal throne of David is the answer3. The key is explained by the Prophet Zechariah. Zerubbabel was commissioned to rebuild the Temple at Jerusalem after the dispersion of the Jews in Babylon4. God revealed the power behind Zerubbabel who would build the Temple. It was not the (human) strength of arm, nor the (human) will of Zerubbabel5 which would be responsible for the reconstruction of the Temple; but, it was the Holy Spirit, which is the power that created and sustains the universe. It is the same Creator God, His Son, the Messiah and His Holy Spirit who will transform the Christian and conform him to the image of His savior.

There must be omnipotent, omniscient assistance from a supernatural being. Surrender in submission to the Holy Spirit of God; the Spirit of God and the Spirit of the Son are one. Submit in subjection to the King of kings, Lord of lords, the Son of God; The Father and the Son are one. Allow one’s self to be conformed to the image of the Son, the living Christ.

Every thing begins with the will, i.e., determination in your innermost existence (heart). Invoke the presence of your Heavenly Father in Jesus name, deliberately set your will, and say; not my will, but God’s will be done. The Son and the Holy Spirit through conversion, justification, sanctification and regeneration will conform those who ask and subject their will to Him. God will transform them and conform them to the image of the Savior.

  1. Genesis 1: 26,27
  2. See II Corinthians 5: 21
  3. Psalm 2
  4. Zechariah 4: 1-10
  5. Zerubbabel is a type of Jesus Christ, the Messiah; he represents the Son of God in this passage. The Son of God and the Holy Spirit of God will transform and conform the Christian into the image of his savior Jesus Christ.
