No Respecter of Persons
Read the first chapter of Isaiah, then come back.
God has become tired with false sacrifices; performances and deeds that are empty of belief. He is, and always has been, angry with those who say they believe, but do not act like what they say. This type of behavior is a lie. It is a weak-minded attempt at mollifying the guilt of sin. At least the truly sinful don’t make a pretense at being truly sinful. Worst of all is the Christian who doesn’t proclaim the Christ.
God is “the lawmaker.” To those he chooses he proclaims his law and promises. He gives blessings to those who obey, and curses to those who know, yet turn from his laws and statutes. In this, God has and will choose to place enemies over the “righteous” to chastise them as a father would chastise his own son. He is love; but, he is also just. He will chastise them, but not desert them if they repent to turn back. (see Deuteronomy 30:19, Psalms 103:13)
God does not put His stamp of approval on all the works his children. Each person is an individual, responsible for each of his choices. The simple principle of sacrifice for sin, in both the Old Testament and the New, teaches that an ongoing penitence is required, but not an ongoing sacrifice. Sacrificing for the same thing over and over again becomes a practice; a religion. That is not obedience. In modern terms, going to church every Sunday and praying for forgiveness for what you know you will do again on Monday is not obedience. It is foolishness.
The simple fact is, while this is a nation influenced by Christianity, not everyone that votes is a Christian. Furthermore, Christians have been taught by the lies of political correctness that their beliefs are private and do not belong in the public square. Go research where the term “politically correct” comes from in the first place. This too is a lie. You may choose to ignore or resist the will of God on any given issue with the mistaken notion that religion should not come to bear. You would be wrong. (see Ezekiel 3:16-19)
God has given each of His children the Holy Spirit (Romans 8:27) and He has given all the Word of God, the Bible. The Christian that enters the voting booth without first asking guidance of the Spirit is ignoring, or neglecting his responsibility to His Lord. Make no mistake, God is not behind a single political party, nor does He automatically put his stamp of approval on the methods of the administration that receives the majority vote. God is not on our side. We must be on his.
There is a belief system that asserts this nation, the United States, is the promised land, and the land of the New Jerusalem. This belief has ingrained in it the concept that this land cannot fail, nor this nation fall, simply because we live in the promised land. There is a belief system that asserts that the nation of Israel is God’s own, and that whoever supports this nation will not fall. There is a belief system that asserts that everyone who claims the moniker Christian is a child of God. There is a belief system that believes that as long as you’re a good person, God loves you.
And Peter having opened his mouth, said, “Of a truth, I perceive that God is no respecter of persons, but in every nation he who is fearing Him, and is working righteousness, is acceptable to Him;” – Acts 10:34-35
God’s mode of rulership is a theocracy, not a democracy. He is following his plan for this world and the universe and so are we. He has written through the prophets what he is going to do to those that deny, ignore, or reject him. He is a righteous God; He will do what is right in his own sight. We all live within the providence of his grace and within the influence of his will. This means one thing; our unrighteousness and inattentiveness is what has already been written about. We do not fulfill prophecy. We have become the fulfillment of prophecy.
The liberal progressive hates and fears this. They would like to eliminate prayer deference to God’s guidance in the voting process. When there is no God, man becomes god. This is the quest of man, from the first, to the last. In that quest men will do anything, anything necessary to accomplish their goal.
I wrote an article about the base hypocrisy of actors. At least they do not pretend to be anything but hypocrites. They tell you in no uncertain terms that their intent is to lie. How sad when we, through our own ignorance, begin to believe a true liar, for the sake of some small benefit. We ignore the core tenets of truth, believing that our faith is secondary. We compromise thinking that our compromise will make eventual gains.
In the end, all of the silence and all of the compromise will garner our own destruction.
[It is God alone who] “changeth the times and the seasons: he removeth kings [heads of nations], and setteth up kings: he giveth wisdom unto the wise, and knowledge to them that know understanding: (Daniel 2:21).”
“There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death (Proverbs 16:25).”
Be careful what your ask for; you will get it.
