When looking at all ancient religions, have you ever noticed that they all have a father figure? Going back all the way to the Akkadian valley, there is a father who is the progenitor of other gods, demi-gods, and humans. All religions share a basic underpinning that points to a common ancestry. Let’s imagine for a moment that Darwin’s Theory of Evolution has some credit.

Evolution teaches us that, like people, religions evolved as a part of the human condition. Monotheism comes from polytheism, which comes from pantheism, which comes from spiritism, etc.

Evolution also teaches us that there was a single, original family group from which all people come. The science of genetics bears this out.  At some point in the history of mankind there was a “genetic bottleneck” where humanity almost died out.

We know that the way that societal groups form is when people who share a common moral basis bond together. In fact, morals are the rules by which societies are ordered and maintained. Morals are never described by laws. Rather, laws are formed from morals. Philosophy does not describe morals. Rather, one’s philosophy is driven by one’s morals. Morals are always described by religion. Therefore, religion is the “glue” that binds all civilizations.

If there is a single, original family group that founded civilization, and all societies are bound by common morals, and all morals are described by religions, then evolution infers that there was a single, original religion from which all religions come and that civilization itself is the result of religion.

What does that say about those evolutionists who want to separate the church from our civilization? Do they really want to separate religion from the state, or is it more likely that they simply want to change the religion of the state to suit their own morals?
