Is There Life After Death?
If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do? (Psalms 11:3). Existentialism (live only for now) is bent on destroying all moral foundations.
The days of the romanticists have returned; Carpe Deum (Seize the day)! God is either dead or does not exist, or at least has become an absentee landlord. Eternity does not exist, there is not even tomorrow. There is only mankind to lead and mankind lies and fails expectations. There is only today to live, and today is never enough. The youth have no reason to build a life; they say, let us taste of the pleasures the world has to offer, ” let us eat and drink [“party hardy”]; for to morrow we shall die.”
They eat and they drink but that does not kill the pain of living in abject fear so they ingest the modern “wonder” drugs to kill the pain and those that do not overdose exist as vegetables, mindless zombies which is worse then death.
There is man who claimed to be God; he declared to us that God created us all for an eternal existence, and to receive this promise all that is needed is to call on God, in his name, give yourself up to your creator, and you will be saved. He said, “I am the way, the truth and the life no man comes unto the Father but by me.” “All those that…come unto me…I will in no wise cast out.”
Yet, this man “…came unto his own and his own received him not;” they rejected him.
While he walked the earth he had not even a place to lay his head. He made his home among the broken hearted the poor the sick and the lame. He healed the sick, raised the dead and made the lepers clean. He sat down to eat with the outcasts that the society of that day had abandoned. He said, “those that are whole need not a physician…I am not come to call the righteous but the the sinner to repentance” (and life everlasting).
He came to declare not an earthly kingdom ruled by men, but an eternal kingdom ruled by God.
Once again they rejected him. The world wanted to keep its own realm to rule over it as it pleased or suited them. “We will not have this man to rule over us!” They turned him over to Satan’s world and said “crucify him.” There was a mock trial and a false condemnation, crucifixion and burial; the tomb was sealed and – for those who believed themselves to be in power – that was an end to it.
This man, this God-man lay in the ground three days and three nights and on the third day He arose again from the dead. Neither the grave nor death was able hold him. He was seen alive after his death by thousands and in a short time even many of those who were among his enemies came finally to understand that this man was, and is; God. No other man in history has ever, or will ever, be the equal of Jesus of Nazareth, the Christ, the co-equal, co-eternal God made flesh.
He ascended into heaven to the right hand of God the Father having given his promise to one day return again to judge the world. In that day he will come to destroy the one who has the power of death, Satan, and the last enemy, which is death, and reign forever over the earth in eternal peace and joy.
Have you reached he end of your rope? Do you fear the future holds nothing for you? Is there a way out? “Seek,” “knock” on his door and “ask” God for salvation! Call upon God in Jesus’ name he is the true Messiah!
All “those who call upon my name shall not be ashamed” before God! His invitation to become a citizen his kingdom is simple; “Come unto me, all you that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and you shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light” (Matthew 11: 28-30). “Follow me!”
