In the beginning God created!

by Isaiah Roman

“In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.1  And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters (Genesis 1-2).”  These things did not happen “in time”2 but “in sequence” simultaneously.3  (a building must have a foundation, walls to protect that which is within from the elements, and a roof to provide protection from those elements that would weaken it).

God created a “home” for mankind and everything he needed to sustain a good life filled with the joy of his Creator.  An obedient child is a joy to his father and mother.4  A froward child is a burden to both.  The earth is the home God built to protect and support mankind.  That’s what a home is; it is a sanctuary for mankind to retreat inside, nurture, keep his family safe, teach his progeny and renew his strength.5  It is a complete, sufficient life support system!

Creation: light, water and water creatures, water parted to expose land then land creatures, flying creatures, last of all the crowing creation of humankind. Simultaneous to all this the laws of dynamics, physics and life supporting to make all things compact and complete to reproduce themselves in kind.  All things were created to be eternal because the Spirit of God was in all things; He is Eternal God and created all things.

Mankind was given dominion over all creation to “tend” it.  Mankind was given instructions (the law and consequences of transgression) and made “stewards”6 of all things in the waters, on the land and in the air above it.  He had a creative mind that could reason. He had time and freedom to learn the “hidden” things of God and create a good life and live forever.  Mankind was created for eternity!  Disobedience of God’s law brought pain, suffering and death.

It is simply the unworthiness within me that refuses to bow down or to submit to one who is worthy. When I meet someone who is more holy than myself, and I don’t recognize his worthiness, nor obey his instructions for me, it is a sign of my own unworthiness being revealed. God teaches us by using these people who are a little better than we are; not better intellectually, but more holy. And He continues to do so until we willingly submit. Then the whole attitude of our life is one of obedience to Him.

I and My Father are one” (John 10:30 ). “… though He was a Son, yet He learned obedience by the things which He suffered” (Hebrews 5:8 ). The Son was obedient as our Redeemer, because He was the Son, not in order to become God’s Son.

Jesus Christ was the final revelation of the instruction that began actually in Eden.  God walked in the “cool of the day” to instruct him.  It was at that time of the day that the fall occurred and he was cast out of paradise.  Mankind ceased being a husbandman tending the garden and was caused to “earn his bread by the sweat of his face” in toil and sorrow.

Since that instant of time every system of life man is capable of devising has been exerted on mankind in a sequence devised by God to show mankind after the fall “without ME (GOD) you can do nothing.”7  God said, “I created all this for you to show MY love for you that you might return it (LOVE) to me.  I designed and created all this and you (mankind) to live with ME in harmony eternally.”  I decreed the way to reconciliation before the foundations of the earth were laid down.   This is “the way to escape“ revealed in the writings of the Apostle Paul (I Corinthians 10: 13) to return mankind to paradise with God eternally without jeopardy.
“And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away (Revelations 21:4).”

  1. Beginning of all truth for mankind; herein lies the reason Satan must destroy the book of Genesis
  2. Time began with the fall of man; Adam and Eve in Paradise (Eden) knew no time, pain, suffering or sorrow.
  3. Occurring, operating or done at the same time sequentially
  4. The father of the righteous shall greatly rejoice: and he that begets a wise child shall have joy of him.
    (Proverbs 23:24)
  5. God sets the solitary in families: he brings out those which are bound with chains: but the rebellious dwell in a dry land (Psalms 68:6).”
  6. Not the owner of the earth but God’s steward in charge of “tending” it for God in trust.
  7. Adam, innocence;  Abraham, Isaac, Jacob the family; Moses the law; David and Solomon the nation; Messiah, Jesus Christ fulfillment of the law The Church spread out over the entire “heathen land”; the fulfillment of the church age, the United States of America the final act ushering in the end time.  The time of reconciliation of all things and God is all in all.
