Fullness of God

by Isaiah Roman

Christians understand that “everything is going to be all right.” Though many think of this in a physical sense, spiritually speaking it is also absolutely, positively correct. Each one of us is still living in a world where there is good and evil present and spiritual warfare is being waged.

The Christian must live in the world, but not be neutralized by it and therefore be rendered ineffective for his Lord. Here lies the rub: how does one remain an effective Christian soldier in that war and yet remain an effective ambassador for the Lord at the same time?

When you are born again, God does not take you out of the world. Instead, He abides in your soul to support you within the world. While you may be effected by the presence of evil that is in the world; yet, you are not subject to it. God gives his Spirit without measure so that we can be empowered to rise transcendent above this evil. Evil brings pain and suffering; a body that ages and becomes ravaged by effects of sin, a mind that falters on false pretense, a heart that is broken. But, a Christian is not like others in the world because they have peace with God. God carries and guides the Christian through the troubles of a sin sick world.

The Christian is one born again of the Spirit and is not going to have everlasting life some time in the future; he has it NOW. For God to be the most effective in the Christian’s life they must be surrendered in submission to the will of God, who’s will was expressed through Jesus the Son of God. By this means the Christian establishes and keeps a proper father/son relationship with the Almighty God.

The Holy Spirit lives inside while angels watch over. All of the Spirit is available to to the Christian. It is as you submit more of yourself to God that the Holy Spirit is able to do greater things through you. “He which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ” (Philippians 1:6).

Christ is one with the Father, the Christian is one with Jesus the Christ. This relationship is possible through the sacrifice on the cross. The Holy Spirit is one with the Father [Elohim] and the Son. The Holy Spirit is that person of God who is “imparted” to the Christian when he is reborn. God the Father, Jesus the Christ and the Holy Spirit are life.1 This is the fullness of the Godhead.

“The LORD shall preserve you from all evil: he shall preserve your soul. The LORD shall preserve your going out and your coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore” (Psalm 121: 7-8). “I will surely deliver you, and you shall not fall by the sword, but your life shall be for a prey unto you: because you have put your trust in me, says the Lord” (Jeremiah 39:18).

“Do you seek great things for yourself? Don’t seek them: [seek first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you” (Matthew 6:33)] for, [hear me well], I will bring evil upon all flesh, says the Lord: but your life will I give to you for a prey in all places where ever you go” (Jeremiah 45:5).

These are the promises of God justification, redemption, salvation, resurrection, eternal life and peace with God both in this life and the one to come. Assurance of these brings confidence which issues forth in joy and peace with God as He overcomes the resistance the world casts up as both an offense and defense against Him.

Good will triumph over evil when God destroys the last enemy which is death.2

He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still. And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last. Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city. For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loves and makes a lie. I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star (Revelations 22: 11-16).

  1. “I [Almighty God] lift up my hand to heaven, and say, I live for ever” (Deuteronomy 32:40). Jesus said unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me” (John 14:6).
  2. “The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death”(I Corinthians 15:26).
