Fool’s Paradise
A wise and august body, the Senate of the United States, has just bought the votes of a number of senators to rob the American taxpayers of trillions of dollars. The price of one vote was an excess of $300,000,000.00 Million1. Before it is finished this bill if passed will cost the taxpayers over ten years in excess of $1,000,000,000,000.00 Trillion. (You might also be surprised to hear the lady in question said, “I am proud of what I have done for Louisiana…and we will fight to keep it)!”
Remember, Harry Reid paid this to Mary Landrieu and your great grand children will still owe his or her portion when they are born.
You understand the politicianʼs point of view; as one politician put it, a billion here and a billion there it all counts up.
“The wise in heart will receive commandments: but a prating fool shall fall” (Proverbs 10:8).
“He that troubles his own house shall inherit the wind: and the fool shall be servant to the wise of heart” (Proverbs 11:29).
“The way of a fool is right in his own eyes: but he that hearkens unto counsel is wise” (Proverbs 12:15).
“Every prudent man deals with knowledge: but a fool lays open his folly” (Proverbs 13:16).
“Excellent speech becomes not a fool: much less do lying lips a prince” (Proverbs 17:7).
“A reproof enters more into a wise man than an hundred stripes into a fool” (Proverbs 17:10).
“Wherefore is there a price in the hand of a fool to get wisdom, seeing he has no heart to it” (Proverbs 17:16)?
“Even a fool, when he holds his peace, is counted wise: and he that shuts his lips is esteemed a man of understanding” (Proverbs 17:28).
“A fool has no delight in understanding, but that his heart may discover itself” (Proverbs 18:2).
“A fool’s mouth is his destruction, and his lips are the snare of his soul” (Proverbs 18:7).
“Answer not a fool according to his folly, lest you also be like unto him” (Proverbs26:4).
“As a dog returns to his vomit, so a fool returns to his folly” (Proverbs 26:11).
Why are there all these proverbs warning about fools? The person who denies truth to enter folly is the biggest fool of all.
“The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that does good “ (Psalms 14:1).”
There are sixty nine references to a fool in the King James Version (KJV) with a definite conclusion. A fool is one who rejects wise council therefore wisdom, talks a lotwhile saying nothing; but, is a dangerous companion. He will lead himself to his own destruction and snare everyone that will stop to give him the “time of day.”
The United States of America is becoming a foolʼs paradise. It is commonly known that anyone who willingly brings upon himself the abuse a public office holder receives does is because it is a very prestigious, lucrative position. It is obvious the perks are a very effective pain killer for his suffering.
Incumbency is killing the nation; but, he who “brings home the bacon” will be tolerated even lauded. It is common knowledge it only requires a fear of not being reelected to keep him producing. He is in the business of buying influence from money not his own; but, public tax funds and selling his integrity to anyone who has the price. It is a win-win operation. It costs him nothing and his gain is no less than 100% profit.
The public continues to return these people to office. It is foolhardy to promote the fox to a position of “keeper of the hen-house door.” That is exactly what the electorate of this nation does at election time.
Jesse James was reported to say in answer to the question, “why do you rob banks?” “Because they have the money!”
It would seem taxpayers have much deeper pockets than bankers! Politicians keep robbing willing voters who are also taxpayers.
There is a saying, “one can not con a conman.” This nation must be almost entirely a nation of conmen else wise they would not stand for being conned at election time!
Everyone at one time or another thinks he will get “something for nothing.” At the polling places there is a tremendous number of people who believe that dictum every time an election is held. They keep returning the same politicians to office.
A definition of insanity is to do the same thing over and over again expecting a different result. It may be this an island of fools.
1 A frame of reference for One Billion; A billion seconds ago Jesus walked the face of the earth, 2000 yrs. approx. Stacked on top of each other the height of one million dollars would be 358 feet (35-40 stories) 1,000 millions or one billion would be 358,000 feet; a thousand billions, one trillion would be 358,000,000 feet.
