I’m a big supporter of Glenn Beck’s work. Although I am critical of some of his political ideologies, his work on history is superior. His efforts to reclaim the history of this country have caused quite a stir, and rightfully so. His opponents cringe every time he opens his mouth. His supporters cheer his unwavering dedication to telling the truth, in so much as it is properly interpreted. And that’s where the rest of the story begins.
Glenn Beck is being used by God, but not in the way that we, as Christians, might understand that term. Glenn Beck is a false prophet.
Like all Mormons, Glenn Beck thinks he’s a Christian. The Mormons use the same words that Christians do, they just simply pack new meanings behind them. These subtle differences in definition change the outcome tremendously. Glenn denies the Trinity. He denies the Christ’s deity while on earth. He denies the ultimate sovereignty of God. He teaches a religion of good works.
Glenn also tells us that the only way this nation will be saved is if we return to God. In this he’s absolutely correct. But when he says this, Glenn is always careful to quantify his statement by saying that you need to go back to your synagogue, your church, or your mosque and seek God. God is not found in those places.
While I applaud him for his efforts to reclaim the Christian heritage of this nation, I can’t help but think that the filter he uses to examine this history through would make the founding fathers of our nation cringe with revulsion. Some modern “evangelical” leaders are saying that we need to join with Beck on his crusade to bring Hope, Faith and Charity back to this nation. They are right about half of that statement.
Christians should have been the ones who were constantly proclaiming Hope, Faith and Charity to this nation throughout the years. It should have been Christians who were willing to stand up to defend their sacred honor, even at the cost of death. It should have been the Christians who stood up to popular cultural influence and denied their claims with confident, loud voices. Instead, we find these leaders following behind a leader from a false cult religion who claims the name of Jesus, yet denies the very principles that make up our understanding of the Christ.
While I support Glenn Beck, and I will stand beside him as he fights for the destruction of progressive socialism in this nation, I will not stand with him. I am not deceived by his false interpretations of truth, and neither should you be. But, I asked a question; why is Glenn Beck being blessed right now? Why is it him and not a Christian? Is Glenn really a Christian who has fallen into a bad system of belief for some reason? Is he purposefully deceitful? Why is it that we see so obviously a false belief being held up to such a prominent place in our time? His success would seem to be the work of divine intervention.
The answer came; it is divine intervention. It came in four verses:
Do not pollute the land where you are. Bloodshed pollutes the land, and atonement can- not be made for the land on which blood has been shed, except by the blood of the one who shed it. – Numbers 35:33
And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none1. – Ezekiel 22:30
For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect. – Matthew 24:24
FOR IT WAS OF THE LORD to harden their hearts, that they should come against Israel in battle, that he might destroy them utterly, and that they might have no favor, but that he might destroy them, as the LORD commanded Moses. – Joshua 11:20
This nation’s hearts are being hardened against the Gospel. We have shed the blood of innocents on our own soil, and are encouraging those who would shed more blood to greater and greater acts of genocide. We have embraced false worship in our temples, and have embraced false religions as equals. We have forsaken the God of creation for the gods of mammon. We have remained silent and watched it all happen in the name of assurance and grace. Yet, even as I write this I know that there will be many who read this and say “even so Lord, Come!” expecting that their job is done, and it’s time for God to step in. Your job is never done, even after this life. Why do you think God would honor that kind of attitude?
Above I quoted a passage from Numbers. The preceding two verses, 31 and 32, tell us everything we need to know; –
Do not accept a ransom for the life of a murderer, who deserves to die. A murderer is to be put to death.
Do not accept a ransom for anyone who has fled to a city of refuge and so allow them to go back and live on their own land before the death of the high priest.
When was the last time you were paid off to look the other way? We must stop looking the other way. We must start standing upon the Word, proclaiming Truth in the marketplace, from the rooftops, in the streets, wherever we find ourselves during the course of our day. However, to do that we must seek the One God of creation without the use of external interpretations. There is only one way to God; seek Jesus. Seek the real Jesus. Bow your knees before Him as your King, and not only you will be saved;
So says Jehovah, Behold, I will bring evil on this place, and on its inhabitants, even all the words of the book which the king of Judah has read; because they have forsaken Me and have burned incense to other gods, that they might provoke Me to anger with all the works of their hands; therefore My wrath shall be kindled against this place, and shall not be quenched. And to the king of Judah who sent you to inquire of Jehovah, you shall say this to him, So says Jehovah, the God of Israel, the words that you have heard, (because your heart was tender, and you have bowed before Jehovah when you heard what I spoke against this place, and against its inhabitants, to become a desolation and a curse, and have torn your clothes, and have wept before Me;) even also I have heard, says Jehovah. Behold! Even so I will gather you to your fathers, and you shall be gathered into your grave in peace; and your eyes shall not see all the evil which I will bring on this place. And they brought back this word to the king. – II Kings 22:16-20
- The first sin of the male was the sin of complicity towards evil. Observe Genesis 3:6b: –
And she took of its fruit and ate; and she also gave to her husband with her, and he ate. (LITV)
she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat. (KJV)
and she taketh of its fruit and eateth, and giveth also to her husband with her, and he doth eat;(YLT)
she took from its fruit and ate; and she gave also to her husband with her, and he ate.(NASB)
she took some and ate it. She also gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it.(TNIV)Adam was standing right there and didn’t say a word during the whole transaction.
