Clear Eyewitness Evidence

Most people have no difficulty believing Aristotle and other philosophers were live historical characters. Atilla the Hun, Genghis Kahn are both ancient characters who had only third party chroniclers, yet we don’t find it difficult to believe in them. In fact, seldom does anyone question them. Why is there so much difficulty in accepting the Holy Scriptures?Could it be the fear of an absolute truth which would require a decision and action? If God exists and is who he claims to be there must be a decision to the question;  What must I do?

It is easier to ignore, deny or reject. Agnostics simply say “I don’t know” and never make a decision. The atheist tacitly admits there is a God when he rejects Him!  Silly isn’t it? The new movement among atheists today is towards not agnostic or atheist but rather are anti-Christ, or are anti-God.

These people actually name themselves anti-God and hope for the best!  To place one’s hope in God is a reasonable position, to say there is no God removes the idea of hope, but is not much bolder than the man who says there is God. To proclaim one’s self anti-God is an astonishing act of hubris.

Mankind has shown neither inclination nor ability to raise any genuine, authentic hope for himself let alone any one else. Mankind has proven itself incapable of creating any state of utopia within itself. Though he may try again and again, he still hasn’t managed to come close to providing eternal life for himself. All of these goals are not new. Hidden within Darwin’s principles is the idea that we are evolving into Gods, but these are principles espoused by Plato some two thousand years earlier. Science Fiction writers have been producing scripts for years that predict or project the desire for that possibility, but he Greeks dreamed of being demi-gods and wrote plays and stories to that effect generations before Jules Verne, or Edgar Rice Burroughs.

Most of those that have had this novel notion of evolution die before they reach the point of “ascension.”  Evolutionists continue in the prospect that surely one day they will evolve into a god-like state.  “To dream the impossible dream, to fight the unbeatable foe, to bear with unbearable sorrow, to run where the brave dare not go!”  Tilting at windmills!  Yet they think themselves “the smartest men and women in the room.”  If men are evolving they are becoming more inhuman why aren’t they getting more civilized? As we begin to remove the unnecessary God from our society, why is our society growing more and more violent and restless?

A philosophy professor wrote on the black board “God is dead” and signed it Nitzsche; a student sneaked in during a class break and wrote under it Nitzsche is dead, and signed it God.

If there is no Creator then there is no hope, and no help. We live for no particular purpose and die with no particular result. Without God, our lives have no objective value whatsoever. We are accidents of chaos, free to make our own way through the universe, except if there’s anything we’ve proven, it’s that we can’t seem to make anything without destroying something else. One day these anti-God dreamers will lie in a coffin “all dressed up with no place to go!” All of this because they simply don’t want to accept the idea of a universe with a God, a universe where they must play second fiddle, where there are rules which must be obeyed. Most would call that stupid or foolishness not erudite thought. The rules exist and cannot be escaped. They dream of a state where one day they can not only escape the rules, but can begin making their own, and yet admit that they are not at that state. And so, even though they are not capable of their dream, they still try to live as though they are living that dream.

Myth is a traditional story, particularly one concerning the early history of a people or explaining some natural or social phenomenon, and typically involving supernatural beings or events. Atheist’s live in a world of myth, and ignore the physical world of reality.

Jesus is not a mythological character. It is this unique instance of reality that challenges the anti-theist’s ideology. Jesus is a real historical figure; as real as any other person of history. His actions are supernatural, and his singular claim to deity stands as the only such claim in all of human history that had both circumstance and witness in support. By extension, because Jesus is real, and his deeds are real, then the God he represents is real. This God is a supernatural being (existence) without corporeal (body) form. He is eternal and pure Spirit.

The Bible is not mythology it is the “revealed” word of God. The Bible is history, poetry, law, and biography. It is a collection of writings across the span of human experience that chronicles how the person of God has communicated with his creation. Judaism and Christianity are not mythology. For those who claim that the Bible is false, or flawed, remember that the Bible exhibits the eye witness of those who lived out the events it describes. There is no contrary eye witness to these accounts. In fact, as each event is examined through the lens of science we find that science proves the claims.

“Bring forth the blind people that have eyes, and the deaf that have ears.

Let all the nations be gathered together, and let the people be assembled: who among them can declare this, and show us former things? let them bring forth their witnesses, that they may be justified: or let them hear, and say, It is truth.  You are my witnesses, says the LORD, and my servant [Israel] whom I have chosen: that you may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me.  I, even I, am the LORD; and beside me there is no saviour.  I have declared, and have saved, and I have showed, when there was no strange god among you: therefore you are my witnesses, says the LORD, that I am God.  Yes, before the day [of creation] was I am he; and there is none that can deliver out of my hand: I will work, and who shall let [cause it to cease] it?”  (Isaiah 43: 8-13)

Agnostics, atheists and anti-theists do not see these things, and in fact ridicule these things not because of the evidences, or facts, but because of their will; … “the natural man receives not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned” (I Corinthians 2:14). To truly see the world in the way it was designed to be viewed you must see things through the eyes of God. You must “be born again of the Spirit” (John 3: 16) to fully understand and “rightly divide the word of truth.” (II Timothy 2: 15)]  God may be found if a person diligently seeks Him. He has promised it (Hebrews 11: 6). Purpose can be found in the creator. Hope rests in the arms of an eternal truth. Meaning comes from the being which impresses that meaning upon the creature. Within atheism there is no God, there is no purpose, there is no hope and there is no meaning.

1. If this is doubted count the inhuman events every day in the news that humans are perpetrating on fellow human beings and defend the idea that humans are getting more humane!
2. The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,  (Luke 4:18)
