The X-Factor

With a background in electronics there is a tendency to attempt to analyze everything as one would a mathematical problem. In electronics anything that can be reduced to a mathematic formula and converted to an electrical signal can be displayed in an audio or video signal. Of course the signal must be applied to circuits and presented to audio or video hardware for it to be intelligible to the human eye or ear.

A Sad Misunderstanding of God and Sin

There is a very poignant misunderstanding in the human mind concerning God and sin.  God hates sin for one simple reason; it brings suffering to the sinner.  God is the most caring being that exists in the universe!  God loves his creation!  Does anyone enjoy deliberately inflicting pain in order to see the ones he or she loves suffer?  How much more the living God hates that which makes his creatures He loves suffer.  In verity the deliberate or uncaring sinner is a very selfish person.

The Double Object of Theology

I have been searching for the “link pin” that is no longer in place in modern preaching in the present day church. Arminius called it the “double object” of Christian Theology. Below are some excerpts from Arminius’
oration on “The object of Theology.”  “This is the reason why the Gentiles without Christ are said to be “alien  from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world.” Yet through faith “those who some time were thus afar off and in darkness” are said to be made nigh, and “are now light in the Lord.” (Ephesians 2: 12, 13, and 5: 8.)
