Obvious Intercession
Deceive the Very Elect
I’m a big supporter of Glenn Beck’s work. Although I am critical of some of his political ideologies, his work on history is superior. His efforts to reclaim the history of this country have caused quite a stir, and rightfully so. His opponents cringe every time he opens his mouth. His supporters cheer his unwavering dedication to telling the truth, in so much as it is properly interpreted. And that’s where the rest of the story begins.
Why Ask Why?
When examining the hard questions in the Bible, it’s important to understand why, as well as how. Why is a question of motive. What would motivate Paul to tell the Corinthians that he doesn’t allow women to speak in the assembly? Why would he say such a thing? When we ask these questions, where, and how we search for answers means everything…
Vanity, Vanity All is Vanity!
There has been no one who has surpassed Solomon in wisdom, wealth and honor among men. But, both the height of power and depth of degradation of mankind are seen in him. His prayer at the dedication of the Temple in Jerusalem is unsurpassed in giving thanks, praise, honor and glory to the One God of creation. Yet the worst of the corruption of worship among men is seen in his later life.
Not by Might, Nor by Power
The only way to express true love and devotion to the Creator God is to be – in so far as is humanly possible – that which God created; the express image and likeness of the Creator1. Invite the Son of God to reign over your whole existence and the Holy Spirit will transform you and conform you to the image of God’s Son.
Prosperity Doctrine
It’s called a doctrine, but is it really part of Christianity? In the book of Job we learn that God gives Job ten-fold after his trial. But, can we really afford to focus on the blessings, and forget about the part where Job is suffering in misery? Is the misery part of this story a bad thing? In this conversation we talk about the meanings behind prosperity doctrine and ask the question, does prosperity come in the form of money, or is there something else that can be called prosperity.
A Famine of Godlessness
There is a plethora of “gods many and lords many” in the land; but, there is dire famine of godliness. There is virtually an edifice in every community that claims to be a house of worship; but, the god’s influences that emanates from them are not felt beyond the block in which they reside. Surely the Christian God who is omnipotent, omniscient, and omnipresent is seldom among those influences; at least not in strength.
Put a Sentinel on Your Heart
“My son, forget not my law; but let thine heart keep my commandments: For length of days, and long life, and peace, shall they add to thee. Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: bind them about thy neck; write them upon the table of thine heart: So shalt thou find favor and good understanding in the sight of God and man”(Proverbs 3: 1-4).
Mighty Oaks From Little Acorns Grow
For want of a nail the shoe was lost.
For want of a shoe the horse was lost.
For want of a horse the rider was lost.
For want of a rider the battle was lost.
For want of a battle the kingdom was lost.
And all for the want of a horseshoe nail.
