Believe or Perish, Part 3

by Isaiah Roman

The Christian is acting on the greatest strength in the universe; the Holy Spirit of God. That is the power that moves the galaxies, sustains them, their orbits and all life forms therein. Yet, that strength is lost on those who fail to realize the depths of the love invested in them by God.

Those who live in a democracy have both the right and duty to vote their Christian conscience. Use it to full advantage until such time as it may be revoked. This responsibility is more great now than ever before. All ideas of deity that have existed in the past must be destroyed before human beings can usurp divine authority and power to declare themselves gods and rule over a new world order. To destroy the ideas of deity all you need are the tools of multiculturalism, political correctness and democracy.

Aristotle called democracy the “oligarchy of the indigent.” When everyone has an equal vote in the affairs of government, the “masses” have more votes. The rich can influence the masses by offering them the things they desire. When government becomes the rich, it is government that offers rewards. When your entire prospect of a better life depends upon a more wealthy government, who do you vote for? Greed, avarice, strife all come from men and women who fear; fear for their safety, fear for their livelihoods, fear for their future, or their children’s future. They fear because they do not know love. When you fear, a threat has teeth. If you threaten that you might not see benefit if you behave against the political will, then you behave according to the political will. If you have no foundation of distinct morals, then all cultures become relative. In this way society stays in flux, and flux brings uncertainty, and uncertainty brings fear.

Christians must come to know not only “what” they believe but in “whom” they believe and learn to know the Comforter, the Holy Spirit of God to remain confident in the faith now. According to the beloved apostle John Jesus promised to send the paraclete (one alongside to help) [See also Lamentations (of Jeremiah) 1:9; 1:16 & John 14:26; 15:26]. Those who wait until it is too late will suffer a fate worse than physical death. They will see the “second death” and final judgment.

“For the which cause I also suffer these things: (See II Timothy 1:7-10)1 nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day (II Timothy 1:12).”

The word of the Lord that came to Amos the prophet:
it shall come to pass in that day, saith the Lord GOD, that I will cause the sun to go down at noon, and I will darken the earth in the clear day: And I will turn your feasts into mourning, and all your songs into lamentation; and I will bring up sackcloth upon all loins, and baldness upon every head; and I will make it as the mourning of an only son, and the end thereof as a bitter day. Behold, the days come, saith the Lord GOD, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD: And they shall wander from sea to sea, and from the north even to the east, they shall run to and fro to seek the word of the LORD, and shall not find it (Amos 8:9-12).”

There are many that speak in the name of the Lord today; but, they do not speak the truth (Jude 1:1-23). God is indeed love but He also is just. Love and Justice met in the person of Jesus Christ on the cross at Golgotha!

It is imperative that Christians develop the confidence of the apostle Paul expressed in II Timothy 1: 7-12 by committing to memory as many of the promises of God as he is able to be sustain them to persevere in the faith of Him that has given the promises to the end.

“I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves. But beware of men: for they will deliver you up to the councils, and they will scourge you in their synagogues; And ye shall be brought before governors and kings for my sake, for a testimony against them and the Gentiles.
But when they deliver you up, take no thought how or what ye shall speak: for it shall be given you in that same hour what ye shall speak. For it is not ye that speak, but the Spirit of your Father which speaketh in you. And the brother shall deliver up the brother to death, and the father the child: and the children shall rise up against their parents, and cause them to be put to death. And ye shall be hated of all men for my name’s sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved (Matthew 10:16-22).”
